Literacy Volunteers of the Montachusett Area provides one-on-one tutoring to adults in Basic Literacy and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).
The Basic Literacy training will prepare volunteers to tutor LVMont students in English reading skills, such as word recognition, comprehension, vocabulary, and fluency. The training is a total of 18 hours: 6 3-hour sessions. The sessions will be March 28, 30, April 11, 14, 25, 28, 4-6 PM.

After successfully completing the training, tutors will be matched with students. We ask tutors to make a commitment to working with their student for 2 hours a week for 9-12 months.
