Who We Are

The Spanish American Center is the only agency in the community specifically oriented to the Spanish speaking population. Its primary goals are to: -Assist Spanish speaking residents to overcome barriers of language and culture -To serve as an outreach mechanism to link Hispanic clients with available community services -To plan and implement direct services to those in need -To act as spoke persons for the Hispanic community -To educate and inform the community at large about the cultural heritage of the Hispanic community, and -To represent the interest of the Hispanic community at the local, state, and federal levels The Center has been recognized for its stability and community leadership and is funded by the federal, state, and local government as well as the United Way of North Central Massachusetts.

What We Do

The Agency's Mission is to serve those who because of economic, cultural or language limitations have need of special services. The Spanish American Center, Inc. (SAC) of Leominster is a non-profit organization, chartered in 1966 and incorporated in 1972 for the purpose of providing comprehensive services to the local Hispanic community. The Spanish American Center, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization chartered in 1966 by members of the Catholic clergy to respond to the needs of the Hispanic community. The Center began as an outreach and information and referral network. In 1972 the Center was incorporated, and in 1974 became a delegate agency of the Montachusett Opportunity Council. The Center is the only agency in Leominster specifically oriented towards the Spanish speaking community, estimated at over 15,000. Today the Center offers over 20 programs, has revenues in excess of $500,000 and is SOMWBA (State Office of Minority and Women Business Assistance) certified.
