What We Do

The Vision of our organization is, a primary resource providing information , education and support for amputees and their families Mission To reach out to people with limb loss and provide a supportive environment where information and experiences are shared and friendships are formed. In the United States there are over 2 million people living with limb loss. Currently here are 28 million people in the United States risk of amputation. Until our group was founded in 2004, there were no support groups for amputees in Central and North Central Massachusetts. During these past seven years, our membership has grown from six people in 2004 to over 100 people in 2011. We are continually receiving inquires about our group. We have experienced an increase in requests for peer visits at the rehabilitation hospitals. With the increase of diabetes that can and has resulted in limb loss and many of our military troops? returning home with limb loss, we will continue to provide a place to share information and support. Today Central Mass. Limb Loss Support Group is still the only support organization for people living with limb loss in Central and North Central Massachusetts.
