Volunteer: Children's Activity VolunteerWe provide a variety of skill-building and stress relief trainings to the parents in our shelter program. During this time, we offer activities for the children. We are looking for volunteers who are interested in spending time with the children to allow the parents to focus on the training. A staff member will always be present with the children and volunteers. The trainings are Tuesday evenings from 6:30pm to 7.:30pm. All volunteers must pass a CORI check. Volunteer: Prepare & Deliver a Meal for a Family.Prepare & deliver a meal
When a volunteer from a host congregation or civic group agrees to provide “a dinner meal” for the shelter it is a shelter critical assignment. Our families rely on the dinner meal to arrive, prepared and hot at 5:30pm every evening. The meal volunteer purchases the ingredients and cooks the meal at their home, church or other location and delivers it to the shelter. Oftentimes, salads and dessert is brought for the families.
