Who We Are

VegFest is a 501c3 non-profit based in Worcester, Massachusetts, that inspires people and places throughout New England to become more veg-friendly for the benefit of animals, people, and the planet. We envision a plant-based, environmentally-sustainable food system in a world where animals are protected from violence. VegFest started in 2009 as VegWorcester, a rag-tag group that sought to make the city of Worcester, Massachusetts, more veg-friendly. Today, VegFest still works in and around Worcester, but we’re also building on our successes as we expand our reach throughout New England. VegFest believes that the best way to make changes is to support people on their paths to choosing plant-based living, no matter where they are on those paths. We educate and inspire while treating everyone with respect and understanding.

What We Do

VegFest runs a variety of programs that seek to show people that plant-based living is fun, easy, accessible, and delicious. Our hallmark program is the New England VegFest (NEVF), one of the largest and longest running vegetarian festivals in the country. NEVF is an amazing day that brings together veg-friendly vendors, non-profits, volunteers, presenters, and people interested in plant-based living to celebrate vegan food and causes. VegFest also runs several other smaller events each year that bring community members together to enjoy delicious vegan food and learn more about plant-based living and products. We also run a large membership program that helps promote vegan restaurants throughout New England.
