For the Day of Caring the Leominster Trail Stewards (LTS) and volunteers will be helping the Leominster Recreation Department with hiking trails and beautification of Barrett Park, Leominster, MA. The LTS and the Recreation Department have sufficient team leaders and tools for the event day.
Creation of the East Gardner Hill Connector Hiking Trail:This trail would connect the relatively new historic Water Trough Trail to the main Gardner Hill Trail via a single track, natural surface trail running off the bottom of the Water Trough Trail over to the eastern spur coming off the Gardner Hill Trail. This project would include correction of water issues on the bottom of the Water Trough Trail. This new trail is approximately ¼ -1/3 of a mile in length. It will help to create another loop trail on Gardner Hill giving users more trails to hike and a greater diversity of hiking experiences at the park. This project will begin with the clearing of the trail corridor for this trail connector and if time allows the clearing of the tread way for the trail The Leominster Trail Stewards and Rec Dept. will provide the tools for this project to be undertaken and completed.
Thank you for considering Barrett Park for your Day of Caring Project.
